KICK-STARTER WORKSHOP

A series of on-demand sessions (optimized to take place over a period of 8-weeks) designed to build participant's functional knowledge and skills in either iOS or Android development. Participants are mentored using projects focused on skills required to produce a new iTunes and Google Play store-ready apps. Many of the learned skills apply to cross-training on two major mobile platforms (iOS and Android).

Online presentations highlight the differences between iOS and Android workflows. Participants are introduced to the SDK stacks of both platforms. We review the project processes, app architecture, tools, debugging, algorithms and commonly used patterns for each platform. Participants contribute to a shared app using Github.

The workgroup team works collectively under the guidance of a tutor, while performing testing, packaging, and deployment. As the workshop continues we examine known issues and proceed through the publishing stage. The workshop focuses on teamwork and learning by doing real world projects.
